REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER continues its 15th season FRIDAY, JUNE 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), with a replay at midnight, exclusively on HBO. The network announced today that Georgeown University sociology professor and author Michael Ericc Dyson will replace Senator Al Franken as a guest on the episode. Yesterday, a spokesperson for Franken told the Huffington Post that the senator would no longer appear, following backlash over Mmaher's use of the 'N' word on last Friday's show. Although Dyson defended THE TALK show host over the weekend, he also condemned his use of the word, saying in a statement ""I'm emotional about this. I love Bill Maher. He's a very dear friend. But as I've made plain through the years, the n word should be reserved for black use. Period."

Musician and actor Ice Cube is the mid-show interview guest for Friday's broadcast. The roundtable guests will consist of journalist David Gregory, former Fla. Rep. David Jolly and activist Symone Sanders.

REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER is also available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals. The show has already been renewed through 2018.
Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989 and has starred in ten HBO solo specials to date. He is also an executive producer of the innovative news magazine show "VICE," which is now in its fifth season on HBO.

The executive producers of REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER are Bill Maher, Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Brad Grey, Marc Gurvitz, Dean E. Johnsen and Billy Martin; co-executive producer, Chris Kelly; producer, Matt Wood; director, Paul Casey.
