This week on DANCING WITH THE STARS, things were done a little differently. On this night of #DynamicDuos, the couple with the best score of the night was automatically immune from elimination. The other six competitors were pit against one another in a dance battle for bonus judges' points. Aside from the immune contestant, elimination went as planned.

The theme this week celebrates some of the most famous partnerships both in Hollywood and in history. Without further ado, here are this week's performances...with my commentary, of course!

Lea & Artem
Dynamic Duo: Bonnie and Clyde
Style of Dance: Jazz
Song: "Somethin' Bad"
My 5-second review: I thought that was so well put together.
Judges' score: 32/40

Man, I was so impressed by the production of this number! I was a little upset that they didn't use a song from the musical, but the excellence of this performance more than made up for it. I was actually really underwhelmed by the judges' scores. I was expecting higher than straight 8s.

Michael & Emma
Dynamic Duo: Tarzan and Jane
Style of Dance: Foxtrot
Song: "You'll Be in My Heart"
My 5-second review: This made me cry, but I'm 92% sure it was because of the song choice.
Judges' score: 25/40

In all seriousness, that song does always get me emotional. Unfortunately, the emotional connection that I have didn't transfer to the two of them. Once again, I saw some improvement in Michael's dancing ability, but at this point in the competition, I'm not sure how much farther "improvement" is going to get him.

Janel & Val
Dynamic Duo: Romeo and Juliet
Style of Dance: Contemporary
Song: "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)"
My 5 second review: Absolutely stunning...I'm speechless
Judges' score: 40/40...the only score acceptable for this performance.

Julianne said it best: "Breathtaking." I had goosebumps. One of the best dances of the season by far. These two definitely deserved to be immune from elimination.

Tommy & Peta
Dynamic Duo: Johnny and June Cash
Style of Dance: Paso Doble
Song: "Ring of Fire"
My 5 second review: Another very fun performance from this charming pair.
Judges' score: 26/40

I'm so impressed by Tommy and his determination in this competition. Even injured, he was able to give an entertaining performance.

Sadie & Mark
Dynamic Duo: Adam and Eve
Style of Dance: Contemporary
Song: "Uninvited"
My 5 second review: Wow. Unbelievably well done.
Judges' score: 38/40

I was floored when they didn't receive a perfect score. I thought that was absolutely fantastic! Everything about that dance absolutely captivated me.

Alfonso & Witney
Dynamic Duo: Batman and Robin
Style of Dance: Cha Cha
Song: "Trust"
My 5 second review: Doesn't get much better than Alfonso as Batman & Prince...
Judges' score: 38/40

My 5 second review pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this performance. Oh! Except for how relieved I was when Alfonso's zipline didn't get stuck. These two are consistently getting better and better. There isn't much to say that hasn't been said already.

Bethany & Derek
Dynamic Duo: Lucy and Ricky
Style of Dance: Salsa
Song: "Babalu"
My 5 second review: AMAZING!!!!!
Judges' score: 37/40

I thought their dance was an odd mix of adorable and spicy. Odd in the best possible way of course. I always love the two of them.

With this week's regular performances done, Janel & Val have immunity from the night's elimination...the other six competitors face off on a DWTS Dance-Off special.

Alfonso & Witney VS Lea & Artem

Style of Dance: Jive
Song: "Rip it Up"
Who I Think Should Win: Alfonso & Witney
Who Actually Won: Alfonso & Witney

Sadie & Mark VS Bethany & Derek

Style of Dance: Cha Cha
Song: "Really Don't Care"
Who I Think Should Win:Bethany & Derek
Who Actually Won: Bethany & Derek

QUICK TANGENT: I don't like the fact that they threw Len through the ringer with that tie at all. I think they should have used the Twitter votes. What is the point of publicly taking the poll if the data can't be used? I mean, either way it seems like Bethany & Derek would have won, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Tommy & Peta VS Michael & Emma

Style of Dance: Rumba
Song: "I'm Not The Only One"
Who I Think Should Win: Tommy & Peta
Who Actually Won: Tommy & Peta

Each of the winning couples received three bonus judges' points added to their final scores. Alfonso & Witney have a final score of 41. Bethany Derek now have a final score of 40. Tommy and Peta raised their score to a 29. After the Dance-Off, the dreaded elimination happened where it was revealed that after countless weeks of inching his way into dancing comfortably, Michael was sent home.

Next week, DANCING WITH THE STARS let America decide the dances and song choices for the couples. I can't wait to see what we chose! Be sure to catch the show on Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
