Cliff Curtis Joins AMC's THE WALKING DEAD Spin-Off Series

BroadwayWorld learned back in March that AMC had given the green light to its WALKING DEAD spin-off series, co-written by series creator Robert Kirkman with executive producer David Erickson (SONS OF ANARCHY). Set to premiere by next year, the show just cast one of its key players.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cliff Curtis will portray "a father who's trying to do the right thing."

Curtis has also appeared on TV in Gang Related, Missing, Body of Proof, Trauma and more. The actor's upcoming big screen projects include Clavius and the TV movie Cobalt. He recently appeared in the movies Last Knights and The Dark Horse; among his past credits are Live Free or Die Hard, The Fountain, Whale Rider and more.

Also in the spin-off cast are HARRY POTTER 6's Frank Dillane and INTO THE STORM's Alycia Debnam Carey.

The series is set in the same zombie apocalypse universe as the original series but in a different location (and possibly time).
