CBS Takes Final Week of Season in Adults 25-54

CBS won the final week of the television year in viewers and adults 25-54 (tie), led by the series premiere of MADAM SECRETARY, the season premieres of 60 MINUTES and THE GOOD WIFE and the Network's second week of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 21.

In viewers, CBS had 10 of the top 20 programs. MADAM SECRETARY (P) was the week's top scripted broadcast, while 60 MINUTES was the week's top news program and non-sports broadcast.

In adults 18-49, CBS had three of the top six programs, including THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, 60 MINUTES (P) and THURSDAY NIGHT PRE-KICK.

MADAM SECRETARY

  • MADAM SECRETARY (P) (9:04-10:04 PM) was second in viewers (14.75m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.0/05). Compared to last year's 9:00 PM time period, MADAM SECRETARY was up +36% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/05), +33% in adults 18-49 (from 1.5/04) and added +5.60m viewers (from 9.15m, +61%).

THE GOOD WIFE

  • THE GOOD WIFE (P) (10:04-11:04 PM) was second in viewers (11.06m), adults 25-54 (2.2/06) and adults 18-49 (1.4/04). Compared to last year's premiere, THE GOOD WIFE added +1.91m viewers (from 9.15m, +21%), its largest-ever Sunday premiere audience.

60 MINUTES

  • 60 MINUTES (P) (8:04-9:04 PM) was first in viewers (17.88m) and second behind NBC's football coverage in both adults 25-54 (4.4/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10). Compared to last year's premiere (on Sept. 29, 2013, without a football delay), 60 MINUTES was up +100% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), +150% in adults 18-49 (from 1.4/04) and added +7.21m viewers (from 10.67m, +67%). 60 MINUTES posted its best season premiere delivery in viewers since 1997 and in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since 2005.

BIG BROTHER

  • BIG BROTHER TUESDAY SPECIAL (S) was first in adults 18-49 (2.3/08) and adults 18-34 (1.7/07) and second in households (4.0/07), viewers (6.91m) and adults 25-54 (2.8/08). Compared to last week Tuesday's special, CBS was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/08), +6% in adults 18-34 (from 1.6/07), even in adults 18-49 and added +150,000 viewers (from 6.76m, +2%).
  • BIG BROTHER WEDNESDAY was first in adults 18-49 (2.2/08) and adults 18-34 (1.6/07) and second in households (4.0/07), viewers (6.60m) and adults 25-54 (2.7/08, -0.1 behind NBC's "America's Got Talent" finale).
  • BIG BROTHER FRIDAY 9/19 SPECIAL (S) was first in viewers (5.16m), adults 25-54 (2.0/07), adults 18-49 (1.6/07) and adults 18-34 (1.1/07).

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

  • THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL "Tampa Bay Bucs at Atlanta Falcons" was first in households, viewers, key men and key adult demographics from 8:00-11:00 PM. Primetime coverage posted a 7.5/13 with 11.34m viewers, 4.9/15 in adults 25-54, 4.4/15 in adults 18-49, 6.5/21 in men 25-54 and 6.0/22 in men 18-49.
  • THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (8:20-11:35 PM) delivered a 7.5/13 with 11.88m viewers, 5.0/15 in adults 25-54, 4.5/16 in adults 18-49, 6.8/21 in men 25-54 and 6.2/22 in men 18-49.
