According to Deadline, Miami Heat star LeBron James will be leaving the court and dunking through wormholes in the upcoming sequel to 1996's SPACE JAM. The movie will be produced by Charlie Ebersol's The Company from a script by his brother Willie Ebersol.

Warner Bros' first SPACE JAM film starred Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan and, of course, Bugs Bunny, and drew $230 million worldwide, eventually spawning a kids TV series.

The combination live-action/animated movie also featured Larry Bird, Patrick ewing, Charles Barkley and more, as well as commentators Ahmad Rashad and Jim Rome, with NBC coach Del Harris.

Ebersol has produced the TV series The Wanted, The Great Escape, The Moment, Race to the Scene and the upcoming We're the Boss and The Big Fix. He also produced the documentaries NFL Characters Unite, Don't Look Down and Ithuteng (Never Stop Learning).

James got his start with the Cleveland Cavaliers and eventually moved on to the Miami Heat. He has been featured in several TV commercials and has hosted the ESPY Awards, as well as Saturday Night Live.
