I'd like to give a hearty "Eff You" to the producers of THE WALKING DEAD for the last month of torture. You all must be enjoying yourself over the hours we have wasted trying to figure out the answer which was revealed in the first two seconds of tonight's episode. NOT cool, guys... NOT cool!

Yes, Glenn is alive. Those guts we saw being pulled out were actually Nicholas' who lay on top of Glenn. Glenn, himself, managed to shimmy under the dumpster for refuge until the gunfire in Alexandria drew the walkers away. In desperate need of hydration, Enid appears with a water bottle, but she takes off running before he can get any answers about what went down in Alexandria. When he finally catches up with her, he gets all Dad-esque on her trying to figure out why she keeps running and wants to be alone. Glenn astutely assesses that since the death of her parents, she really has no interest in making ties with anything that would constitute a family. She accompanies him back to Alexandria. On their approach they see that the walkers have completely surrounded the town. Locating a bouquet of balloons and a helium tank (as you do in the apocalypse) they release them in hopes of distracting the walkers.

Rick, Michonne and Carol confront Morgan on his releasing some of the wolves during the attack. Said wolves are the ones who almost killed Rick in the RV and they have to break it to Morgan that his whole "all life is precious" theory may not be working so much anymore. Morgan approaches Doctor Denise for some secret help to nurse his prisoner back to health. Carol manages to follow them and confronts Morgan about who he is hiding. Carol vs. Morgan, good Lord, now there is a showdown. But Morgan did have a good point, everyone in that room has changed significantly, so why shouldn't he believe that everyone is capable of it? Carol clearly has no patience for his way of thinking so the showdown over the wolf should be interesting, however, that may be put on hold for the more imminent danger.

Rosita is trying to teach everyone how to fight with a sword/knife even if resident scaredy cat Eugene won't partake. Rick is still teaching psycho-in-training, Ron, how to shoot. Carl is helping and it's pretty clear Ron isn't thrilled about it. So much so, that he breaks into the armory and steals some ammunition. With his loaded gun, he heads into town to find Carl. And since Nicholas is dead, we have a new idiot in town named Spencer. Spencer decided that he was going to repel (I don't think that's the right word, but go with it) over the walkers to try and find a car to distract them. His plan obviously fails and Rick and Tara wind up saving him. Just... stop, Spencer. As Rick and Tobin reinforce the walls, Maggie sees the balloons and somehow she knows it's Glenn. Elated, she runs to tell Rick as he and the entire town are horrified to watch the tower fall and break down the wall as the walkers invade.

Well, I believe this is what we call full circle. We began Season Six with a herd of walkers and the entire season has been about leading them away. With next week being the finale, it is only fitting that the herd will break through the walls of Alexandria and all these skills that Rick and company have been teaching the townspeople will be put to the test. They are greatly outnumbered so I'm sure that we will lose a few (Spencer, anyone?) and I am hoping since they gave us Glenn back that it doesn't mean we will lose someone else we love. And I'm torn about it. Was Glenn not dying nothing but a cheap trick? Is this just another wolf cry (pun absolutely intended)? I'm happy he's alive and yet, kind of annoyed at the way they soap opera'd us all into thinking he was not. Thoughts?

No sign of Daryl, Sasha or Abraham this week so even if the fate of Alexandria is in danger, we know that they at least have those three and Glenn bringing up the rear. Regardless, it is going to be another emotional and anxiety-ridden finale. How is it that time already?

Here's a preview for next week's midseason finale:
