Based on Live + 3 Day data for this past Tuesday, ABC's MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. mid-season return grew to 6.9 million viewers (+53% - up +2.4 mil from 4.5 mil L+SD) and a 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49 (+63% - up +1.0 rating from 1.6 L+SD), making it the biggest percentage gainer among all broadcast shows on the night with young adults.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s L3 gains for its return were higher than for its September season premiere episode (on 9/23/14) in viewers (+53% vs. 49%) and young adults (+63% vs. 50%).

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns for a dynamic, action-packed second half of season two, with Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) - the keeper of the secrets - charged with rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. in the wake of the events of "Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier," where it was revealed that evil Hydra agents had infiltrated and crippled the peace-keeping organization.

Ever since the existence of super heroes and aliens became public knowledge after the Battle of New York, the world has been trying to come to grips with this new reality. Agent Phil Coulson assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland INTERVENTION Enforcement and Logistics Division). S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mission: to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive.

But the biggest threat was growing from within as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s old enemy -- Hydra - a dangerous extremist group - had secretly infiltrated and infected the organization at the highest levels. Once revealed to the public, S.H.I.E.L.D. was discredited and made to look like the enemy. The world now views S.H.I.E.L.D. as untrustworthy, and it's Coulson's job to change that opinion.
