ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE Grows to Most-Watched Week Since December

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the week of February 24, 2014, ABC was up over the prior week by 14% in Total Viewers (2.259 million vs. 1.989 million) and by 13% in Adults 18-49 (712,000 vs. 631,000).

ABC stood as the 2nd-most-watched network in late-night, outdrawing CBS by 11% (2.259 million vs. 2.041 million). In addition, ABC dominated CBS by 25% among Adults 18-49 (712,000 vs. 570,000).

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (M-F 11:35 p.m.)
During the week of February 24, 2014, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" shot up over the prior week by 17% in Total Viewers (2.632 million vs. 2.255 million) and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (828,000 vs. 706,000), while NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" declined by 36% in Total Viewers and by 37% in Adults 18-49.

Opposite the 11:35 p.m. premiere of NBC's "Fallon," "JKL" attracted its largest overall audience in 10 weeks (since the week of 12/16/13) and also grew its overall audience over the same week last year by 6% (2.483 million on w/o 2/25/13).

With guests Kerry Washington, Michael Strahan and Juicy J featuring Wiz Khalifa on Thursday (2/27/14), "JKL" drew 3.634 million Total Viewers to deliver its 2nd-most-watched telecast ever on any night in late-night, behind only the Matt Damon takeover episode (on 1/24/13). In addition, Thursday's show hit a 5-month high (since 10/3/13) in Adults 18-49 (1.270 million) for any single-day telecast of "JKL" in late-night.

ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" outperformed CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" by 21% in Adults 18-49 (828,000 vs. 682,000), beating the CBS late-night program in 21 of the 23 weeks of the season.

"Nightline" (M-F 12:35 a.m.)
ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.567 million Total Viewers, 644,000 Adults 25-54 and 498,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of February 24, 2014, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the 3rd straight week, "Nightline" outdelivered CBS' "The Late Late Show" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+251,000), Adults 25-54 (+95,000) and Adults 18-49 (+47,000). Further, the ABC program has beaten "The Late Show" in Total Viewers in 22 of 23 weeks of the season.

"Nightline" was up over the previous week across all target demos: Total Viewers (+17%), Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+11%) - 1.339 million, 622,000 and 447,000, respectively, on w/o 2/17/14. In fact, "Nightline" drew its largest overall audience in 5 weeks - since w/o 1/20/14.

"Nightline" increased its Total Viewer performance by 3% from the year-ago week (1.528 million on w/o 2/25/13). "Nightline" has posted year-to-year Total Viewer improvement in 3 of the last 4 weeks.
"Nightline" ranked No. 1 on Thursday (2/27/14) in Total Viewers (2.149 million) beating CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by 963,000 Total Viewers (1.186 million) and first Thursday telecast of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" by 188,000 Total Viewers (1.961 million). Further, "Nightline's" Thursday airing stood as its most-watched telecast in 8 months - since 6/18/13.
