FUZZ - PAGE 2

BIO:
Now into their fifth year, Orthodox Fuzz is still bringing a unqiue style of heavy southern rock to the fans of DFW and the surrounding region. Whether its playing to a packed dive bar on a Saturday night or opening for bands such as Saint Vitus, Kill Devil Hill, Eyehategod, Honky, Rigor Mortis, David Allan Coe or Las Cruces - the boys in the Fuzz are always looking earn fans one at a time. If you get a chance to check them out, be sure to bring your earplugs, the Fuzz is loud, really loud and unrelenting. The point of a Fuzz show is to have a good time and be thoroughly rocked! Formed in the fall of 2007, founding members Brian H.(Hacksaw) and Dale Williams set out to form a band whose style was sorely missed in the DFW rock scene at the time. A riff driven heavy rock band with both classic and modern influence that would excite fans of multiple genres and all ages. After almost 2 years of hard work and multiple early line up changes, the band was complete with the addition of guitarist Joey Grice, The Rev. Brock Brooks on vocals and Christian on drums. Going at it with a vengeance, the band was playing every live show they could and hitting into the studio as much as possible. Christian decided to leave the band in mid 2010 leaving a void in the drum throne. After a few weeks of auditions the band hired Jeremiah Valdez, a young up and coming drum legend who filled out the sound to an even higher level than before. It was only after months of rehearsal and two live shows that tragedy struck -- in late October of 2010 Jeremiah passed away from heart complications in his sleep. Unclear as to the future of the band, the remaining members of the Fuzz took some time off to mourn the loss of their fallen brother. Toward the end of 2010, the band began holding auditions to fill the shoes left by Jeremiah. I didn't take long before the band stumbled across Jeff "Beam" Jones, which led to the band finally perfecting the overall sound and forming a brotherhood stronger than they've ever had. The band played their first show in 5 months and went on to dominate the DFW live scene in 2011 - a year that also saw the Fuzz open two shows for new Rex Brown (Pantera/Down) and Vinnie Appice (Dio/Black Sabbath) band Kill Devil Hill. Toward the end of the year, the band had the opportunity to open for southern sludge metal pioneers Eyehategod. 2012 saw some changes for the Fuzz. A change was made up front with the addition of Andrew Kimbrell in the vocal position. Andrew is hands down one of DFW's most talented and energetic singers and brings a whole new depth of song-writing and vocal ability to the band. Within two-weeks of joining and with a minimal amount of practice, Andrew blew everybody away when the Fuzz opened for the legendary Rigor Mortis. The band has just completed recording a new EP with the new line-up which is due to be released to rabid and growing fan base in the late summer or early fall of 2012. The Fuzz takes all opportunities to hit every stage possible, bringing their brand of southern heavy rock to the masses. Look for upcoming gigs at the Metroplex Heavy Fest (providing direct support for Earthen Grave's headlining performance) and opening the Dallas Ride for Dime where the Fuzz will share the stage with Honky, Texas Hippie Coalition, Warbeast and outlaw country legend David Allen Coe. Influences: Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Sleep, COC, Down, Halfway to Gone, Orange Goblin, Acid King, Saint Vitus, Alice in Chains, Fu Manchu, Clutch, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, EHG, and about a hundred more stoner rock, doom, classic rock, psychedelic rock, southern rock, and heavy metal bands!
