UPDATE 11:22 am/ET: Despite a statement from Anthony Scaramucci, (a member of the Trump presidential transition team), that Sir Elton John will be performing at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, the New York Times reports that Fran Curtis, the publicist for the British singer, has issued a strong denial by email, stating: "Incorrect. He will NOT be performing."

9:38 am/ET: While global superstar Elton John strongly voiced his support for Hillary Clinton throughout the 2016 Presidential campaign, a key adviser to Donald Trump claims that the Grammy winner will perform at Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20th, according to the New York Post.

"Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for inauguration," Anthony Scaramucci, a member of the presidential transition team executive committee as well as a vice chair of the presidential inaugural committee, told BBC's "HARDtalk." He added that having the openly gay musician at the event, "shows our commitment to gay rights."

He continued, "This will be the first American president in US history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance."

John came out as gay almost two decades ago. In 2014, he married British filmmaker David Furnish when gay marriage was legalized in England. As of this morning, the singer has not confirmed the report.

In his five-decade career, Sir Elton John has sold over 300 million records, achieving 37 gold and 27 multi-platinum albums. He is one of the most highly acclaimed solo artists of all time, earning six Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, a Golden Globe Award, an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and a Disney Legend Award. Sir Elton was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Billboard named him the third most successful male solo artist on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists." "Wonderful Crazy Night," which will be released on February 5, 2016 will be his 32nd studio album. John has composed music for Broadway's AIDA, THE LION KING and BILLY ELLIOT.
