Billboard reports that the soundtrack to FOX's breakout hit series EMPIRE has reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The chart tracks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Released on Tuesday, March 10th through Columbia Records, the soundtrack debuted with 130,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music. It's the first TV soundtrack to debut at No. 1 since 2010, when three different GLEE albums topped the list.

The original music showcases EMPIRE cast members Smollett and Gray, alongside Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon) and guest stars Courtney Love, Juicy J, Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Mary J. Blige and Rita Ora. It also features the song, "No Apologies," with Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and Bryshere Gray a.k.a "Yazz" (Hakeem Lyon), which debuted on last week's "American Idol."
