Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings 'Soul Of A Woman' Out Today

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings' final studio album Soul of a Woman is out today on Daptone Records.A lush, orchestral masterpiece, the dynamic album was recorded before Sharon's passing last November (a year ago almost to the day) and captures the riveting performer's incredible vocal capabilities and a band at the peak of their power.

Named "Album of the Month" with a 9/10 rating by UNCUT and called "a tremendous valedictory lap" by MOJO (****), Soul of a Woman is the band's endeavor to create a record that stretches the limits of their soulful sound in all directions, giving us both their rawest and most sophisticated recordings to date - the final album by one of the most influential soul voices of the 21st century.

In celebration of the life and spirit of Sharon Jones, the Dap-Kings will perform a special tribute to their beloved leader on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this evening, November 17th, at 11:35 pm est/8:35 pm pst.

Soul of a Woman features eleven songs recorded with her long-time co-conspirators, the Dap-Kings, which reveal that the emotion, dynamics, and drama of Jones' voice remained at full power until her final days. The album is a true testament to the life and career of Daptone's fearless leader and one of the world's greatest performers.
