SEX AND THE CITY Composer Gains Emmy Nomination for Work on PBS Special

The Emmys are around the corner and we have someone Broadway lovers everywhere are going to want to hear about. Composer Bob Christianson is nothing if not versatile. He was responsible pulsating music that accompanied episodes about severa energetic New York women HBO's acclimed "Sex and the City", and now he's back with an emotive project that just earned him an Emmy nomination!

Bob Christianson has created a new musical format, a captivating blend of Broadway show, symphonic concert, and film score, for his production of the WTTW-PBS Special, A Christmas Carol - The Concert. This break-through concert event has garnered Christianson a 2014 Emmy nomination for the song, "No Trouble." Unlike the other nominees in his category who are nominated for upbeat and comedic performances, "No Trouble" is the only song that sends a profound message that tugs at the heart strings.

As composer, arranger and executive producer of A Christmas Carol - The Concert, Christianson created an exceptional work performed with a full symphony orchestra; a large choir; a rock/pop rhythm section, and four singer/actors.

This mom and pop production, a three-year labor of love, has become one of the highlights of Christianson's career. The song, "No Trouble" (music by Christianson and lyrics by Alisa Hauser), has earned the duo a nomination in the category of Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics - 2014.

The track is a heartfelt ballad, sung by Bob Cratchit (Scott Coulter) right after Tiny Tim dies; it touches your heart and takes you on a journey of emotions. The piece truly depicts the power of Charles Dicken's words, even 200 years after his death.
