Singer, songwriter and Grammy®-winning artist Rosanne Cash teams up with husband and fellow Grammy® winning musician and producer John Leventhal for a new tour celebrating the release of their much anticipated album, The River and the Thread. The two arrive at Wharton Center's Pasant Theatre tonight, October 23rd for one show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets on sale now online at www.whartoncenter.com by phone at 1-800-Wharton or at the Wharton Center ticket office.

The River & The Thread (Blue Note Records), debuted in January 2014 and is a collection of new original songs that connect and re-connect Rosanne to the American South, the place of her birth and the home of her ancestors. The Album debuted at and No. 11 on The Billboard 200 (becoming Cash's highest-charting album yet) and at No. 1 on the Folk Albums chart. Cash wrote the album's 11 original songs with Leventhal who also served as producer, arranger and guitarists. News Week hailed it as "the work of a lifetime." USA TODAY says it's "A captivating and sometimes haunting album that's among the finest of her career." And singer-songwriter Elton John says, "It's inconceivable that there will be a more beautiful album than this in 2014!"

Rosanne Cash is nominated for a trio of 2014Americana Honors & Awards including Album of the Year,(The River and the Thread) Artist of the Year and Song of the Year ("A Feather's not a Bird") She was also recently nominated for the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
