Rockin' Road To Dublin Announces National Tour And More

RMS Productions is pleased to announce the addition of four veteran entertainment agencies to support their 2018 national tour. Alchemy Production Group, Bond Theatrical Group, SunnySpot Productions and Juniper Street Productions bring their years of experience to the producing team. The new generation of Irish rock and dance concert ROCKIN' ROAD TO DUBLIN, co-created and starring Irish Dance World Champion Scott Doherty and Celtic Rocker Chris Smith, is currently booking its 3rd national tour that will open in Nampa, ID March 2, 2018 and go on to play over 30 cities during the Spring of 2018.

The 2018 spring tour will play cities across North America including Nampa, ID, March 2; San Bernardino, CA, March 6; Folsom, CA, March 7; Medford, OR, March 8; Spokane, WA, March 10; Butte, MT, March 11; Bismarck, ND, March 13; Duluth, MN, March 15; Grayslake, IL, March 16; Benton Harbor, MI; March 17; Detroit, MI, March 18; Fort Wayne, IN, March 20; New Philadelphia, OH, March 21; West Long Branch, NJ; March 24; Norfolk, VA, March 27; Columbus, OH March 30; Louisville, KY, March 31; Peoria, IL, April 3; Indianapolis, IN, April 12; Oxford, OH, April 20; Ashville, NC, April 21; Baltimore, MD, April 28 with more shows being announced soon.

Joining as General Manager is Alchemy Production Group. APG is a leading General Management firm for theatrical and other live stage productions on Broadway and across America. APG is headed by Carl Pasbjerg along with senior General Managers, Marshall Purdy and Abbie Strassler, and Associate General Manager, Lauren Tucker, and has overseen scores of live stage attractions around North America throughout their multi-decade careers. Bringing their years of experience and booking relations to the team is Bond Theatrical Group. Founded by Temah Higgins and DJ Martin, Bond Theatrical Group is a fully independent Booking, Marketing & Publicity team of experienced and dedicated theatrical industry professionals. BTG forms strategic and authentic connections between live audiences and live entertainment, between producer and presenter, offering innovative and cutting-edge strategies with integrity, enthusiasm, transparency and loyalty both on Broadway and across North America.

Bruce Robert Harris and Jack W. Batman of SunnySpot Productions have come on board as Executive Producers. They are Tony Award-winning Broadway and London producers who have presented over 50 new plays, musicals and classic revivals, plus many private and corporate events, since forming their producing partnership in 2005. Their productions include Present Laughter; Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812; On the Town; You Can't Take It With You. Pippin; Nice Work If You Can Get It; Clybourne Park; I Am Harvey Milk; Carrie the Musical; The 39 Steps; and The Scottsboro Boys on Broadway and in the West End. Bruce and Jack have also produced six Original Broadway Cast albums and were the Executive Producers of Gerald McCullouch's award-winning film, "Daddy."

Juniper Street Productions joins as technical director for the national tour with Hillary Blanken at the helm. The New York City based Production Management and Technical Supervision firm specializing in live theatrical productions has managed more than 100 Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national tours and events, and has consulted on live stage productions in Europe, Australia and Asia. Select Tony Award-winning and nominated productions include Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, Present Laughter (2017 revival), Fun Home, Waitress, The Color Purple (2015 revival), Spring Awakening (2015 revival), Something Rotten!, Disgraced, Beautiful The Carole King Musical, Follies(2012 revival), Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, Memphis, Grey Gardens, The Producers. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, SpongeBob SquarePants, Escape to Margaritaville, and Once on This Island.

Returning for the second season, Loudmouth Marketing continues as Marketing, PR and Social Media Specialist. Founder Cyndi Putnam brings over 20 years of experience specializing in start-up entertainment projects. Current and past clients include Brain Candy Live!, Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Rocktopia, Adrienne Arsht Center fot the Performing Arts, Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival, Riptide Music Festival, Broadway Across America, Global Creature Productions, Live Nation, AEG, Live Nation Motor Sports, CBS Sports, Blue Man Group Productions, Allied Live, 360 Entertainment and Evergreen Exhibitions.

"This isn't your typical Irish dance show," explains Smith (The American Rogues), "it combines the magic of Broadway and the energy of a rock show with the excitement of Irish dance. We've taken traditional Irish tunes and updated them to make the entire evening more dynamic and powerful. It has enough of the tradition people love, but it's different enough that they will never look back!" Smith has gathered an elite class of musicians to perform in the ROCKIN' ROAD TO DUBLIN band: Marc Malsegna (award-winning guitarist), Kelly Mills (five-time winner of the Drum Corps and Percussion World Championships), Mike Moore (Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion), Joe Schermann (Guys and Dolls, White Christmas, Grease, Smokey Joe's Café and Shout), and Corey Walden (The American Rogues, and founder of The Suzuki School of Milford).

"It's truly the music that gets the audience on their feet," insists Doherty (Riverdance and Lord of the Dance), who has worked his own magic choreographing the critically acclaimed show. "We've created this mashup of awesome Irish everything with rock and roll. It's a high energy concert mixed in with an Irish dance show." The 2009 Men's World Champion of Irish Dance, Doherty made his professional debut in 2005 with the North American tour of Riverdance, and since has toured the world with that show, as well as Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance.

For ROCKIN' ROAD TO DUBLIN, Doherty chose three-time international Irish dance champion Ashley Smith to be his lead female dancer. On stage since the age of 3, at 16, Ashley was crowned the World Irish Step Dancing Champion in Belfast in 2004 - making her the youngest American female ever to win the world title at that time. A top-30 female finalist on the hit TV show "So You Think You Can Dance," Ashley was also a featured dancer on the Oscar-nominated film Silver Linings Playbook.

Additional well-known dancers joining Doherty and Smith include Mark Chichester (Lord of the Dance), Declan Crowley (West Side Story: Mashup), Bernadette Devereaux (Lord of the Dance), Patrick Holland (Cherish the Ladies), Billy Kanaly (Riverdance), Erika Nielsen (Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games), world champion Tyler Schwartz (Celtic Fyre) and Mairéad Stillson (Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games).

"The lyrics of the songs tell a love story that weaves together the music and dance," explains the show's director, Broadway's Jeff Whiting (The Producers-tour; Bullets Over Broadway-tour). "Our goal is to have the audience walk away having had an experience that is entertaining, uplifting, and inspirational."

Music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are by Brent Frederick; original costume design is by Sarah Coffey and Ashley Wilson; lighting is by Carolyn Wong; scenic designs are by Brian Barker and Jason Ardizzone-West; and sound consultation is by Trey Smith.
