Announcing one of the coolest new musical developments of the summer - Music at The Downs!

After a pilot run in 2013 with Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell (and rising star opener Sarah Jarosz), AMP Concerts and Heath Concerts are back with the first season of shows at The Downs of Santa Fe. Located just south of Santa Fe (and an easy 40 minute drive from Albuquerque), the Downs are a lovely oasis in the central New Mexico desert. That's right, we said oasis. These concerts don't happen in the grandstands, but rather the lush, landscaped infield. Rolling hills, ponds, trees and acres of grass make The Downs cool and comfortable during the summer heat, and one of the few opportunities we have in New Mexico to hang out on the grass and enjoy good music. You can count on it being 20° cooler then Albuquerque on the lawn of The Downs.

The debut show in this years Music at The Downs series will begin Saturday, July 5 when the Soulshine Tour rolls into town. Headlined by Michael Franti & Spearhead, Soulshine mixes live music, DJs and yoga for a truly alternative 4th of July celebration. The day kicks off with a mass yoga session with visiting yogis and some acoustic tunes from Mr. Franti himself (who will undoubtedly partake in the yoga as well). DJs keep the grooves flowing between yoga and evening concerts, with live music from Michael Franti & Spearhead, SOJA, Bret Dennen and Trevor Hall. Yoga activities will continue throughout the event. Vendors will be on hand and food and drinks will be available.

The other confirmed show in the season is Ray LaMontagne with The Belle Brigade on Tuesday, August 5.
These concerts are produced by AMP Concerts and Heath Concerts, two of New Mexico's premier non-profit arts presenting organizations.

Advance tickets are $50 and $69, and $16 for kids under 13 (including all service charges and a $1 donation to the Soulshine sponsored charity Reverb).

Special yoga workshops (with Michael Franti & visiting yogis) at 2:30. $10 with concert ticket, $24 without.

The event will last a roughly 90 minutes. There will be a 60-minute traditional yoga class with Michael Franti performing a couple songs acoustic on either side of the class. The class will be taught by professional Yogis and Michael will be physically participating with fans.

Tickets will be $5 more the day of show.

Tickets are available from AMPCONCERTS.ORG, Hold My Ticket (112 2nd St SW), 505-886-1251, Monday to Friday 9 AM - 6 PM, Sat & Sun 11 AM - 6 PM and TicketsSanteFe.com.
