MotorCity Casino Hotel to Welcome Ashanti to Sound Board, 8/20

MotorCity Casino Hotel will welcome Grammy Award winner Ashanti to Sound Board on Saturday, August, 2016 at 8pm. Opening for Ashanti will be Detroit's own Marcus Douglas Band featuring Kiko.

Ashanti burst onto the music scene with her smash hit album Ashanti. The album landed the #1 spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, selling over half a million copies in its first week, the most albums sold by any debut female artist in the chart's history and granting her a spot in The Guinness World Records. With her hit song, "Foolish," Ashanti secured the #1 spot on six Billboard charts simultaneously, staying on the Billboard charts for 11 consecutive weeks. She made Billboard history when her first three chart entries landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time and by holding the #1 and #2 spots simultaneously, a feat previously attained only by the Beatles.
