In an interview posted on Contactmusic.com today, Glee star Matthew Morrison revealed that following the sixth and final season of the FOX musical dramedy, he is hoping to work in London's West End, perhaps in a Tennessee Williams play.

"I want to take a break from television," shared Morrison. "It's a gruelling schedule and my heart has always been on stage. I realize that even more so now. Because of this long show, I haven't been able to get back on stage."

He added, "I would probably do a serious, dramatic turn in a play. I've been talking to some people over there about doing a Tennessee Williams play so here's hoping."

Best known for his role as choir leader Mr. Schuester on GLEE, the actor shared that he will feel "bittersweet" when the series ends its run in 2015. "I have mixed feelings. I think it's bittersweet but it's been an absolutely incredible ride and I'm going to miss my close friends, who have become my family." He continued, "But at the same time, I'm so looking forward to being challenged with something else. I have been playing Mr. Schuester for what will be six years by then, so I'm looking forward to a new acting challenge. Something different, fresh and original."

The Broadway vet released his newest album, A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS on November 25. The album features Morrison's cover of six classic holiday tunes including "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "O Holy Night" and "Let it Snow."

About Matthew Morrison:

After studying musical theater, vocal performance and dance at Tisch School of The Arts in New York, Morrison made his debut on Broadway in "Footloose," followed by "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." However, it was his role as Link Larkin in the original cast of the Broadway production of "Hairspray" that served as his breakthrough and led to Morrison being cast in the critically acclaimed "The Light In The Piazza." His portrayal of young lover Fabrizio Naccarelli garnered him a Tony nomination for best performance by a featured actor in a musical. He subsequently received a Drama Desk nomination for outstanding actor in the off-Broadway musical "10 Million Miles" and reprised the role of Lieutenant Cable in Lincoln Center's Tony-nominated production of "South Pacific."
