MTV News reports that Maroon 5 will make their performance debut at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live on Sunday, August 24.

The Adam Levine-fronted band will perform a new song from their upcoming fifth album V, out September 2. It has been previously announced that Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer are also set for the performance line-up.

MTV announced in April that the 2014 "Video Music Awards," the loudest and at times, the most controversial, annual live celebration of music, is set to make its triumphant return to the west coast when it airs LIVE from the Forum, presented by Chase, in Inglewood, CA. This year's VMAs will have the distinction of being the first major award show to ever take place at the historic "Fabulous" Forum.

Jesse Ignjatovic/Den of Thieves is the Executive Producer for the 2014 "MTV Video Music Awards." Amy Doyle, Garrett English and Dave Sirulnick are Executive Producers. Joanna Bomberg, Jen Jones and Lee Lodge are Co-Executive Producers. Hamish Hamilton is Director. Wendy Plaut is Celebrity Talent Executive.
