Low Country Sound founder and Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobbcomments, "Brandi, Anderson and Brent are three of my favorite voices making music today and I consider myself tremendously lucky to work with them-both in and out of the studio. I can't wait for people to hear what we've been working on."
Elektra President Gregg Nadel adds, "It's been a true honor to collaborate with Dave over the past two years on the LCS imprint. His singular vision and commitment to true artistry is unparalleled. We're extremely proud of what we've already accomplished and look forward to many years of growth and success."
BRANDI CARLILE
Brandi Carlile's highly anticipated new album By The Way, I Forgive You will be releasedFebruary 16 and is now available for pre-order. Produced by Cobb and acclaimed musician Shooter Jennings, the album is the Grammy-nominated musician's first release in partnership with Low Country Sound/Elektra Records. In advance of the release, the album's first single, "The Joke," recently premiered (watch a live performance of the song filmed at RCA Studio A HERE). Already receiving widespread praise, the song is the #1 most added song at AAA radio, while NPR Music asserts, "By The Way, I Forgive You takes Carlile and her longtime bandmates, Phil and Tim Hanseroth, into a new space of risk-taking-as well as the emotional stratosphere. 'The Joke,' the first track to be released from By The Way, exemplifies the album's massive ambition. A country-rock aria dedicated to the delicate boys and striving girls born into-and, Carlile insists, destined to triumph over-this divisive time, 'The Joke' offers a stunning vocal performance from Carlile, swathed in warm piano, big drums and a perfect string arrangement."
ANDERSON EAST
Anderson East's sophomore album, Encore, will be released January 12 on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records and is now available for pre-order. Produced by Cobb, the album features the first single, "All On My Mind," which is currently top 5 and climbing at AAA radio (watch the official music video HERE). The album also features the song "King For A Day," which was co-written with Chris Stapleton and Morgane Stapleton. Of the song, NPR Music praises, "...exemplifies what's most exciting about Encore. East carefully lays down his vocal lines, going from tender to urgent, as the horns and Chris Stapleton's guitar form a double helix around them. The particular rhythms of Southern soul-aggression tempered by a commitment of staying in the pocket-are ideally realized, conveying the song's message that love is always worth it, no matter how long it lasts." East, who recently performed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," will embark on his largest headline tour to date in 2018 in support of the album.
BRENT COBB
2017 was a breakthrough year for Brent Cobb, who spent much of the year on the road with Chris Stapleton as part of his "All-American Road Show." To kick off 2018, Brent will set out on his extensive "Ain't A Road Too Long" headline tour in February, which includes stops in Atlanta, Birmingham, Washington, DC and New York among many others. The tour takes its name from Brent's new single, which was produced by Dave Cobb and will be featured on his forthcoming full-length album to be released in 2018 (listen to the songHERE). Of "Ain't A Road Too Long," NPR Music declares, "...an anthem for the laborers who make music possible-a funny, sweet and funky talking blues in which Cobb counts his blessings while acknowledging the sweat equity it took to secure them...Cobb and his collaborators find transcendence in soul's leavening and the grease of rock 'n' roll." His forthcoming sophomore album follows 2016's Shine On Rainy Day, which was released to widespread acclaim on Low Country Sound/Elektra Records.
DAVE COBB
Dave Cobb is one of the country's most in-demand and acclaimed producers. His 2017 projects include two Chris Stapleton albums (From A Room Volume 1 & 2) as well as records from Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Zac Brown Band and Colter Wall as well as music for the USA Network television show "Damnation." Still to come, he has projects in the works with Brandi Carlile, Anderson East, Brent Cobb, Old Crow Medicine Show, John Prine, Oak Ridge Boys, Ashley Monroe and Rival Sons. His previous work includes albums with Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lori McKenna, Judah & the Lion, Shooter Jennings, Waylon Jennings, Houndmouth, All Them Witches and Lake Street Dive as well as his acclaimed compilation, Southern Family. Most recently, Cobb won the CMA Award for Album of the Year for his work on Stapleton's From A Room: Volume 1. In 2016, Cobb was recognized with two awards at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards-"Best Country Album" (Stapleton's Traveller) and "Best Americana Album" (Isbell's Something More Than Free). Additionally, he won the 2015 CMA Award for "Album of the Year" (Stapleton's Traveller) and the 2014 Americana Music Award for "Album of the Year" (Isbell's Southeastern) as well as Grammy nominations in 2011 and 2007 for "Best Country Album" (Johnson's The Guitar Song and That Lonesome Song). Moreover, since 2016, Dave has been the producer in residence at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A.
