Eric Frisch is set to play Greenwich Village's legendary rock club, The Bitter End, tonight, August 29th.

Originally from Toronto, Frisch's love for music grew interestingly and organically-he recalls a train ride at age 16 from Toronto to Montreal listening to Rubber Soul, a classic pop record by The Beatles-specifically the track, "You Won't See Me." Game changer. The Beatles were a musical gateway for Frisch, introducing him to Cat Stevens, Elton John, the Moody Blues, Otis Redding, Simon and Garfunkel and others.

The influence of such artists is easily heard in Frisch's music-from swaying piano solos to up tempo melodies, his whole set list is a nod to classic pop music-a time when lyrics and music melted together sweetly, absent from guttural bass lines and auto tune. His expert piano playing stems from lessons at the young age of 8 years old. His voice grips his self-penned lyrics perfectly-a true songwriter that has the musical wherewithal to accentuate and downplay lyrics at the exact right time.

Frisch recently released One Way to Find Out and has spent much of his summer playing festivals and clubs in and around New York City. This will be his last show as a resident of the Empire State-a celebration of sorts-a nod to the undeniable influence the city has on one musically. His next album, yet to be named, is already in the works and due out in 2014.
