Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) Premieres New Album WISHED OUT with Consequence of Sound Ahead of Friday Release

This Friday, September 21, Carl Broemel will release Wished Out via Stocks In Asia / Thirty Tigers. Today, Consequence of Sound premiered the album in its entirety and called it, "some of the most energetic, honest work of Broemel's quietly excellent career."

In support of the new album, Broemel, along with support from Steelism, will hit the road for a national tour. Tickets are on sale now. Find a full list of tour dates below.

The album announced with an official video for "Starting From Scratch," which Consequence of Sound called "a charming and breezy listen, but grounded with sturdy, glistening guitars and hearty piano." Rolling Stone said, "On his third solo album, Wished Out, Broemel mixes guitar-god heroics with heady lyrics about science, family and the artistic struggle. He keeps things breezy on this record's kickoff single, 'Starting From Scratch,' layering a spacey, cyclical melody atop a tight R&B groove."

Broemel recorded Wished Out at his newly-constructed home studio in Nashville, tracking many of the instruments alone before reaching out to several friends - including Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Russ Pollard (Everest, Sebadoh), and My Morning Jacket bandmates Tom Blankenship and Bo Koster - for help.

He worked in spurts, taking short breaks to drive his son to school and longer breaks to hit the road with My Morning Jacket, and pulled triple duty as Wished Out's producer, engineer, and frontman along the way.
