Telemundo is proud to announce the addition of renowned TV personality Boris Izaguirre as judge of the mega-reality music competition, "Yo Soy El Artista" (I Am the Artist). His arrival completes the panel of celebrity judges that includes Luis Fonsi, Olga Tañon, Mario Quintero Lara and Stephanie Himonidis 'La Chiquibaby,' alongside international star Lucero, the host of the show slated to premiere this September. With castings completed across major cities across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, "Yo Soy el Artista" will feature talented contestants who will have to sing, dance and demonstrate star quality and showmanship, in an intense 13-week competition where the winner will be named the ultimate true "Artist."

"Being part of this innovative reality and watching an unknown talent evolve into an accomplished artist is something unexplainable and unique," Boris remarked. "The power, charm and magnetism to captivate the audience is what I will be looking for in the star to be discovered on Yo Soy el Artista."

"We are happy to have such an excellent and diverse group of prominent figures on the judging panel for the musical competition," said Maria Lopez-Alvarez, SVP of Reality Programming at Telemundo. "Boris' participation as judge will be very imperative to the competition due to his knowledge in recognizing the elements that should own a true artist that will make him/her into the ultimate star."

Boris Izaguirre is an acclaimed journalist, screenwriter and television host and a prominent figure in entertainment in both Latin America and Europe. He started his career as a teenager in Venezuela writing a column for the Caracas newspaper El Nacional but gained widespread attention after he moved to Spain and appeared in "Crónicas Marcianas" and other successful productions. He twice served as a judge for Spanish television's dance competition "Mira Quien Baila" and is a former host of the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant. He was a finalist for the prestigious Planeta award in literature in 2007 for his novela "Villa Diamante," and currently writes a weekly column on El País newspaper in Spain.

Telemundo and Spain's Reset TV partnered to jointly own, develop, produce and distribute internationally, this reality competition series based on an original concept from Reset TV founders, Toni Cruz and Josep Maria Mainat, the creators of popular entertainment formats such as Cronicas Marcianas (Martian Chronicles), Mira Quien Baila (Look Who's Dancing) and Operacion Triunfo (Star Academy), among others.
