Speaking on the Happysadconfused podcast this week, MAGIC MIKE XXL star Matt Bomer revealed that he was actually cast in the iconic role of SUPERMAN in the early 2000's for a film which was to be directed by Brett Ratner from a script by JJ Abrams.

"Brett chose me for the project and then it all fell apart," explained the actor. "It was a very lengthy process to get the role, I think it was over the course of three months because I went in in a cattle call. It sort of evolved from there." He goes on to reveal, "It was a month of, 'Okay, looks like this is going to happen'. And then it slowly fell apart."

Listen to the podcast below in which Bomer also chats about returning to American Horror Story, The Magnificent Seven, and working with Lady Gaga!
