Variety reports that a body that was found dead in a wooded Seattle suburb on Thursday, October 16th has been confirmed to be that of "August: Osage County" actress Misty Upham. The news was confirmed by filmmaker and family spokesperson Tracy Rector. A cause of death has not been revealed. Upham was 32 years old.

Rector told Variety that she and THE FAMILY believed the Auburn Police Department could have done more to find the missing star. "We just want to make it clear that the Auburn police had nothing to do with looking for her or finding her," she said. "It was friends and family that led the search and rescue teams that found Misty."

A statement appearing on the Auburn Police Department Facebook page said the search for Upham took five hours along with a 10-person team. "The Auburn Police Department states that there is no initial EVIDENCE or information to indicate foul play; however the Medical Examiner will make the final determination," the statement reads.

Upham had moved to the area to help take care of her father, who is recovering from a stroke. Upham's father Charles previously told The Hollywood Reporter that she "had recently changed her medication, so she was sort of having erratic behavior. She told me and her mom that we didn't have to worry about her any more. ... I thought it sounded suicidal myself, so I called the police. She's always been a suicidal person." The actress had last been seen leaving her sister's apartment in Muckleshoot on October 5th.

Misty Upham played housekeeper 'Johnna Monevata' in last year's film adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Among the actress' other film credits are FROZEN RIVER, DJANGO UNCHAINED and JIMMY P. She most recently appeared in "Cake" starring Jennifer Aniston. The film premiered at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

The King County Coroner's Office is expected to make a statement on the death on Friday.
