THOR: THE DARK WORLD Takes $7.1 Million in Midnight Sales; Swinging for $90 Million Weekend Haul
THOR is back and swinging the hammer harder than ever at the box office.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mavel's follow-up to its 2011 film starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman managed to take in $7.1 million in midnight sales - double the first installment's $3.2 million haul.
Since last weekend, THOR: THE DARK WORLD has taken in over $150 million, and on track to score a $90 million-plus opening Stateside by Sunday.

Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and is based on Marvel's classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book "Journey into Mystery " #83 in August, 1962.
"Thor: The Dark World" is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle, Alan Fine, Nigel Gostelow and Stan Lee. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
