Production begins in Massachusetts this week on "Joy", the story of a family across four generations and the woman who rises to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty. "Joy" will star Jennifer Lawrence in a film written and directed by David O. Russell. Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, and VIRGINIA Madsen will also star. The story is inspired by the life and times of inventor entrepreneur Joy Mangano, creator of Ingenious Designs with over $1 billion in sales, as well as inspired by elements from the lives of other historic business pioneers.

"We are honored to be in Massachusetts with this amazing group of filmmakers and cast. This is Mr. Russell's third picture here, after The Fighter and American Hustle, he loves the area, the people, the locations, the cast, the crew, and the Boston teamsters," said Elizabeth Gabler, President of Fox 2000.

The film, from Fox 2000 Pictures and Davis Entertainment, in association with Annapurna Pictures, is produced by David O. Russell, John Davis, and Megan Ellison.

20th Century Fox releases JOY on December 25, 2015.
