ONCE UPON A TIME Opens Door to LBGT Relationships on Season 5

ONCE UPON A TIME is finally joining the "world we live in" in modern America.

BroadwayWorld has learned that the fairy tale-centric show will explore an LGBT relationship on its newest season. With Mulan's return, it looks like ONCE UPON A TIME creators have decided to flesh out her feelings for Aurora.

"We know that community have been big supporters of the show and we would love to be able to tell a love story that reflects that," executive producer Edward Kitsis said of the upcoming plot device.

Executive producer Adam Horowitz added, "We want the show to reflect the world as it is now. Whether that's going to be with any particular character, we're not going to say."

"But it is something that we're going to do this year," Kitsis interjected.

Could this open answer mean that there may be more LGBT relationships on the show in the future? It seems likely.

"It's something we want to do this year," Horowitz said. "It's something we think is due and important to do on the show. This is the world we live in."

Master storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron: Legacy") invite everyone to join Emma Swan, Snow White, Prince Charming, The Evil Queen, Hook and all the other resident fairytale characters as they prepare to defend themselves against a magical force from the past that's too unpredictable even for Rumplestiltskin - Elsa, the Ice Queen from Arendelle.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David Nolan, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O'Donoghue as Hook, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry, Michael Socha as Will Scarlet and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

"Once Upon a Time" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are creators and executive producers. Steve Pearlman and David H. Goodman are also executive producers. The show is from ABC Studios.
