'Magic Mike' Star Signs On to Next Season of FOX's EMPIRE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Rodriguez has signed on for a recurring role in the next season of the FOX hit musical drama EMPIRE.

The Magic Mike XXL star will portray "Laz Delgado," described as "a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills. A native New Yorker and former EMT, Laz takes an interest in Cookie (Taraji P. Henson)." Henson recently revealed to THR that her character is heading for "multiple love interests" in the new season. May Delgado be one of them?

Rodriguez joins previously announced guest stars Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Ne-Yo. The actor is best known for his role on CBS's CSI: Miami and ha also appeared in Ugly Betty and The Night Shift.

The new season of EMPIRE premieres on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
