Steve Carell recently took over Zach Galifianakis's role as 'Steven Goldstein'. FREEHELD also stars Julianne Moore and Ellen Page. Ron Nyswaner penned the script.

The film is based on the 2007 documentary, and tells the "true story of the late Laurel Hester (Moore), a New Jersey police detective whose world was shattered when she became terminally ill and government officials prevented her from assigning her pension benefits to her domestic partner, Stacie Andree (Page)."

Grimes will play "a secretly gay cop on the police force who, in solidarity with his colleague, comes out of the closet to support her fight against the local government for domestic partner rights."

Grimes is set to appear in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie as Christian Grey's brother. Also in his big-screen queue are American Sniper, opposite Bradley Cooper, and Shangri-La Suite. Among Grimes's TV credits are True Blood and Brothers & Sisters.
