The Hollywood Reporter writes that 12 YEARS A SLAVE star Chiwetel Ejiofor is in discussions to join Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE film.

No word yet on which role he would play, opposite Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character.

Morgan Freeman, Billy Nighy, and Ken Watanabe are all reportedly in talks to take on the role of The Ancient One.

Scott Derrickson is set to helm the project from a script by Jon Spaihts. Doctor Strange was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko during the early 1960s.

DOCTOR STRANGE will hit theaters on November 4, 2016.

Ejiofor was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 12 YEARS A SLAVE and will next appear on the big screen in THE MARTIAN, Z FOR ZACHARIAH and TRIPLE NINE. Among his past credits are ENDGAME, CHILDREN OF MEN, INSIDE MAN and more.
