BRIDESMAIDS director Paul Feig has officially signed an overall deal with 20th Century Fox to produce a slew of R-Rated comedies for the studio, Deadline has confirmed.

Feig proved his chops with the Kristen Wiig-led comedy, and is now following it up with THE HEAT. The Comedy follows uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence--and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.'s "finest," is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals.

Feig told the site, "I had an amazing time working with the gang at Fox on The Heat and am very excited to team up with them to make as many commercial comedies as humanly possible. I've also been looking to expand my carbon footprint and so their extreme distance from Burbank allows me that much-desired opportunity."

THE HEAT is coming to theaters on April 5th, 2013.
