GREAT WHITE

BIO:
In December 2011, after a full recovery, Jack Russell informed his former band mates that he was taking the name Great White, which he created, and moving on. The former band members, manager, and agent told Jack they would continue touring with his name Great White. Ownership of the name is yet to be determined in a court of law. Thus, to avoid confusion, Russell’s group will go by the name “Jack Russell’s Great White.” The new group consists of: Guitarist Robby Lochner- Dubbed “Robby Loch Ness Guitar Monster” by Jack Russell and “Shred Master General” by DJ Razor Rey DeCarlo from KNAC, has been playing guitar since the age of 8, after receiving one for Christmas. DJ Razor suggested that Robby send a promo pack to Rob Halford’s (Judas Priest) E.M.A.S. management service. Within a year Robby had been handpicked by Rob Halford to complete the “War of Words” tour for his band “Fight”. He has won “Arizona’s Best Guitarist/Performer” two years in a row for Arizona Music Scene Magazine, and was selected to play guitar for the Z-Rock “Killing Crew”. Z-Rock was a nationally syndicated radio station based out of TX. He has also won Music Scene International’s “Best of the Best/Best Rock Guitarist” award, and the L.A. Music Awards “Best Performance, Guitar”. Guitarist Matthew Johnson- Born and raised in Texas, Matthew started playing organ at the age of 9. At age 13 he picked up his musician-father’s guitar and has been playing ever since. He began playing professionally at age 16 and went on to graduate magna cum laude from the prestigious University of North Texas School of Music. Matthew then moved to Los Angeles where he formed his critically acclaimed progressive rock band, ‘Doctor M’. Soon after, he met Jack Russell, and became lead guitarist for Jack Russell’s solo project. Matthew wrote several tracks, including the title track, for Russell’s solo album Shelter Me. Matthew also has co-writing credit for the song “My World” on Great White’s album Let It Rock. Bassist Dario Seixas- this bass player/singer/songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has been playing professionally since moving to the United States. He toured extensively as a member of Firehouse and was the bassist on their critically acclaimed album Prime Time. Most recently, he has been performing with Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy from 2009-2011. Drummer Derrick Pontier- has been playing drums for over 30 years. He has performed for numerous bands, and on various recording projects. Derrick has also taught at a number of workshops and drum clinics. He played with Great White (2001-2005), C.C. Deville’s Samantha 7 (2001), and has been performing in an All Star band with members including Angel’s Frank DiMino and Stryper’s Oz Fox.
