Last night, Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric and Yahoo News National Political Columnist Matt Bai sat down with actor and political activist Tony Goldwyn at the Democratic National Convention. Goldwyn plays the President on "Scandal," but he's stumping for Hillary Clinton in real life. Watch the full interview on Yahoo News below!

Highlights include Goldwyn on: Whether campaigning informs his acting on Scandal: "Yeah, it really does. It's really thrilling. I didn't quite anticipate it, but when I was out on the campaign, you know as a surrogate, you kind of do exactly what the candidate does. If I give a stump speech, I'll go to a group of people, I'll talk about the issues and obviously for me, it's why I'm supporting Hillary Clinton, but you do like three or four and you get in the car and drive for a couple of hours and you go to another one and people take selfies and you do the whole thing. And I thought, wow, this is what Fitz did, so it's fun and it was quite helpful, in terms of when I went back to SCANDAL and I'm in the oval office my imagination had all of this imagery that was really useful."

Donald Trump & the TV world: "I think there is a real division between the reality TV world and the world that I work in so there's no real intersection except doing talk shows together...And I did, in fact, meet Donald at a talk show we were doing together...this was before he declared for President...he was incredibly charming and nice, you know. I did not agree with his politics at the time because this was after the whole Birther thing, so in one sense there's a duality... this is purely my impression, I don't know him well at all, I only met him once...of being someone who is very charming and loves people and loves to connect with people and someone who I don't understand where the shift happens, but someone who realized that there was tremendous advantage to be gained from whipping up and fomenting fear and anxiety and things that I think have turned out...to be very destructive for our political discourse and to me, it's preying on people's vulnerabilities in a way that I really believe will not serve them in the long run."
