Sydney Theatre Company's Rough Draft #28 will culminate in a free, one-off showing on Friday 13 March at 6.30pm in Wharf 1. For Hooting & Howling, raconteur Phil Spencer (Story Club, ABC 2) teams up with singer / songwriter Elana Stone (All Our Exes Live in Texas) and director/dramaturge Scarlet McGlynn (Show Me Yours, I'll Show You Mine) for a comedic journey through life, death and the afterlife, via Sydney Harbour.

Mixing stand-up comedy, story-telling and original live music, Hooting & Howling is an autobiographical account of soul searching and ghost hunting on Sydney's famous harbour island. This is a tale of one man's induction into the realm of the supernatural and his desperate efforts to resist being an atheist 'know it all' as a group of eccentric hobbyists attempt to make contact with the unknown, armed with only torches and a packet of ginger snap biscuits. Interludes of beautifully haunting songs are spliced through this humorously philosophical narrative, creating an atmosphere of paranormal possibility.

UK born Phil Spencer is a writer, performer and creative producer. Phil regularly performs at events such as Penguin Plays Rough, Late Night Library, Cab Sav and Sydney Writers' Festival. His recent credits include Story Club (ABC 2), You And Whose Army? (Art and About Festival, UK tour) and One Man Show by The Chaser's Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen.

Elana Stone is a vocalist, songwriter, pianist and accordion player, and is due to release her third studio album in 2015. She has collaborated with the likes of Passenger, Washington, Urthboy, Hermitude and Ngaiire, among others.

Scarlet McGlynn is Co-Artistic Director of Tin Shed Theatre Company. For STC, she was Assistant Director for Switzerland and Storm Boy. Other directing credits include Show Me Yours, I'll Show You Mine (La Boite), Boxing Day and Small, Hard Things (Rock Surfers Theatre Company).
