Matt Dellapina, Miriam Silverman & Nick Westrate to Star in Playwrights Realm's A DELICATE SHIP

The Playwrights Realm has confirmed casting and tickets on sale now for the New York Premiere of A Delicate Ship by Anna Ziegler, directed by Margot Bordelon. The production runs Tuesday, August 18 through Saturday, September 12, 2015 with a Thursday, August 27, 2015 opening at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 W. 42nd Street, NYC).

The cast features Matt Dellapina (Nicky Silver's Too Much Sun at the Vineyard Theatre) as Sam, Miriam Silverman (Sheila Callaghan's Everything You Touch at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater) as Sarah and Drama Desk Award winner Nick Westrate (Harvey Fierstein's Casa Valentina at Manhattan Theatre Club) as Nate.

Tickets are on sale beginning today through www.TicketCentral.com, by calling (212) 279-4200, noon to 8pm daily, or by visiting the Ticket Central box office at 416 W. 42nd Street. Tickets range in price from $25 to $35 for all regular performances (August 28th thru September 12th). The Playwrights Realm is pleased to bring back their successful 1 to 5 Ticket Drive initiative during preview performances, wherein tickets range in price from $1 to $5 for the first five preview performances, August 18th - August 22nd. Tickets for August 24th, August 25th and August 26th are $15. Student rush tickets are available for $10 for all performances from August 24th thru September 12th.

It's Christmas Eve, and Sarah and Sam are celebrating like New Yorkers: flirting over wine and debating the nature of existential suffering. Then there is a knock on the door, and Sarah's childhood friend Nate stands at the threshold. And suddenly suffering becomes a whole lot less sexy. A kaleidoscopic look at one night in New York City that changes the lives of three people forever.

The design team includes Reid Thompson (Scenic Design), Sydney Maresca (Costume Design), Nicole Pearce (Lighting Design) and Palmer Hefferan (Sound Design). Alyssa K. Howard is the Production Stage Manager and Will Rucker is the Assistant Stage Manager.

The performance schedule for A Delicate Ship is Mondays - Saturdays at 7:30pm. There are special matinee performances on Friday, September 11th at 4pm and Saturday, September 12th at 2pm. There is no performance on Monday, September 7th.

A Delicate Ship is made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. The production is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with The City Council.

A Delicate Ship is The Playwrights Realm's second Alumni Production, which is dedicated to mounting new works from their "Alumni Playwrights," the family of playwrights the company has previously produced. The Realm first produced Alumna Anna Ziegler's play Dov and Ali in 2009.
