Chelsea Handler may have just posted a cryptic Instagram photo suggesting she was being considered for a late-night CBS series - but the network has already stepped up to deny the rumors.

"There are no discussions with Chelsea Handler regarding the network's 12:30 late night broadcast," a spokesperson for the network told The Hollywood Reporter this afternoon. "Her meeting with CBS yesterday was a general meeting with our syndication group."

As previously reported, Handler is eager to end her relationship with E!, calling the cable network a "a sad, sad place to live."

Last week, CBS announced that Stephen Colbert would be taking over the reins for Late Show host David Lettermansometime in 2015. Since that time, speculation has began to grow as to whether Craig Ferguson will remain at his post on The Late Late Show, which follows Letterman.

In July 2007, Handler began starring on her own half-hour, late-night comedy series on E! titled Chelsea Lately. The show has proved to be a hit by averaging more than a half-million viewers since its premiere and having clips on Youtube with more than one million views.

After Lately is a mockumentary in which the various cast members, writers, crew, and even "hangers-on" ofChelsea Lately are shown bickering over trivial matters and competing for air time on the show. The show began airing on E! in 2011.
