York Symphony Orchestra to Present GAMES PEOPLE PLAY, 5/10

The York Symphony Orchestra (YSO) presents Games People Play as a part of the 2013-2014 Pops Series on May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center. The performance will include music from popular video games such as The Legend of Zelda and Halo, movies such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Dark Knight, the TV drama Game of Thrones, and more.

"This performance is a great opportunity to hear the music you know so well performed live," said Ken Wesler, executive director of YSO. "From Legend of Zelda, to Angry Birds, to James Bond, this unique show will highlight music that every gamer and movie fan will recognize and enjoy."

Pops: Games People Play will feature one of Broadway's most accomplished music directors, Todd Ellison. Ellison's credits include the current revival of Annie, La Cage aux Folles (Tony Award-Best Musical Revival), Spamalot (Tony Award-Best Musical), Elton John's Lestat, 42nd Street (Tony Award-Best Musical Revival), Amour, The Wild Party, On the Town, Once Upon a Mattress, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, She Loves Me, Cats, Starlight Express and Annie 2. He was the music director of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the famed Radio City Music Hall for several years and has worked closely with a variety of stars such as Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Barry Manilow and many others.

The Games People Play performance will also include a very special "pay your age" ticket pricing. Audience members who are interested in purchasing tickets in a designated section will be charged their age for their ticket with a maximum ticket price of $36.00 and a minimum ticket price of $10.00.
