One of the most divine harmonies on earth is that of The Vienna Boys Choir, a grand ensemble which sings gorgeous melodies like "Amazing Grace," Schubert's "Ave Maria," Handel's "Messiah," Mozart's "Gloria," and Broadway's "Sound Of music" and "Singin' In The Rain"; Copeland's Old American Songs; Traditional Gospel including "Amazing Grace" and "Oh, What A Beautiful City," and so much more.

The Vienna Boys Choir, which appears center stage at the Spencer Theater on Wednesday, February 25 at 7 p.m., is a legendary institution dating back to 1498. Almost peerless through the centuries, alumni of this Vienna-based ensemble have included a host of famous musicians. Starting with just six boys as formed by Emperor Maximilian I of Austria, the imperial choir was used for adornment at court functions and high masses, singing medieval and classical music. But beginning in 1918, as the immeasurable beauty of the boys' vocals was increasingly in demand at numerous state and private functions, the choir began performing in concerts throughout Europe. Today, there are about 100 choristers between the ages of 10 and 14, divided into four touring choirs, giving more than 300 concerts a year in venues throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Under the direction of conductor Jimmy Chiang, the 25 boys appearing at the Spencer will perform a mesmerizing program that includes everything from medieval motets to classical songs, playful waltzes, polkas and contemporary Broadway hits.
