On Sunday, December 22 at 5:00 PM, The Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street, Lancaster, PA proudly presents its final program for the Fall, 2013 Jazz-in-the-Sky Series: "The Next Generation," which features nearly a dozen young rising stars of the jazz world accompanied by a trio of professional jazz musicians followed by an end-of-the-year holiday party with musicians.

For the third year in a row, Keith Mohler, the coordinator of the Jazz in the Sky series at the Ware Center | Millersville University, has scouted the area for the best young jazz musicians. He sought out students who perform at a professional level. "Last year, this concert sold-out and was among our most successfully received performances in our series. These young musicians are really good. And, last year's crowd were wowed by the talent. This year's line-up will top last year," Mohler said.

Mayor Rick Gray, who attended last year's performance said, "I loved last year's performance so much, that although I am scheduled to be out of town, I am going to try to re-arrange my meeting so I can be there."

Some of the guest students include Nicole Roberts & LeAnne Simmons (vocals); Seth Ebersole & Andrew Mohler (saxophones); Austin Wagner (drums); St. Clair Simmons (trombone); Colin MeKeel (piano) and John Gingrich (bass). They will be joined by several more young musicians chosen from schools with strong jazz programs such as Berklee College of Music and Temple, plus regional high schools.

The professional trio of jazz musicians accompanying the kids will be Kirk Reese-piano, Larry Marshall-drums and Keith Mohler-base.

Admission to the concert includes a Holiday Party - where concert-goers can meet and mingle with student musicians. The party is suitable for the whole family. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets: $20 | $5 for students | $65 for a table of four. Tickets include complimentary beverages and party food. Call 717-872-3811 or 717-871-2308. Online at www.artsmu.com. In person at the Ware Center Box Office (42 N. Prince St., Lancaster) of the SMC Building on the Millersville University campus. If tickets are still available, tickets may be purchased the day of the show, one hour prior to the performance. But please be advised, most performances in this series sell out before show time.
