PROJECT Trio, with beat-boxing flutist Greg Pattillo, cellist Eric Stephenson and bassist Peter Seymour, is releasing a new recording, Instrumental. A CD release concert/ party will be held at SubCulture in New York City on Friday, May 2.

A continuation of their journey of exploration of contrasting musical genres, Instrumental features 11 tracks of rhythmically charged PROJECT Trio originals and covers ranging from classical to gypsy jazz, Brazilian and slow jams. The originals include Djangish, an homage to the great Django Reinhardt, Shir and 2against3, both with the classic PROJECT Trio sound, and Sloeberry Jam, a slow jam with a hip-hop/pop/gospel feel. Four more originals, 99 Mondays, The Anthem, BBR andNow were made with a new voice inspired by the sounds of today. The album is balanced by an eclectic collection of coversincluding, Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5, the classic Brazilian "Chorro" song Andre de Sapato Novo, and a PROJECTTrio rendition of Saint-Saëns' Bacchanale from Sampson and Delilah.

PROJECT Trio has become one of the most popular instrumental ensembles of its generation, playing over 100 performances worldwide each year, as well as garnering over 79 million views and 93,000 subscribers on YouTube and playing to fans of all ages in venues around the world, from clubs to Carnegie Hall.

Instrumental, on PROJECT Trio's own Harmonyville Records, is the group's sixth recording. Their latest albums, When Will Then Be Now, (Harmonyville Records) and their catalog-spanning Random Roads Collection (Tummy Touch Records), debuted at the top of both the Billboard Canadian and US classical and jazz charts. Like all of the other PROJECT Trio's recordings, both soared to the top of the iTunes charts. Following up on the success of their first two CDs, Winter in June andBrooklyn, their third disc, PROJECT Trio was acclaimed by Jazz Review as "a glorious celebration of the music of our time."

In addition to TV and live radio appearances on WNYC's Soundcheck, and Sirius XM among others, their music can be heard in Nike and Smart Car commercials. The members compose and arrange all of their own music. Their repertoire includes pieces for trio as well as several works with orchestra.

Their upcoming and recent tour schedule includes engagements with the Dallas, St. Louis, Detroit, San Diego, Toronto, and New World Symphony Orchestras, and a continued relationship as Family Artists in Residence with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Passionate about music education, the Trio will perform and lead master classes in schools, universities, festivals and other venues throughout the US and around the world, including 2014 summer master classes in New York City, at DePauw University and at Oregon's Britt Festival.
