Lisa Batiashvili, the New York Philharmonic's 2014-15 Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in- Residence, will perform a recital with pianist Paul Lewis. The program will include Schubert's Violin Sonata in A major, D.574; Schubert's Rondo for Violin and Piano in B minor, D.895, Rondo brillant; and Beethoven's Violin Sonata in G major, Op. 96. In addition Ms. Batiashvili will perform Telemann's Fantaisie No. 4 in D major for solo violin, and Mr. Lewis will perform Busoni's arrangement of J.S. Bach's Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland for solo piano. The recital, Monday, March 30, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. at Alice Tully Hall, is presented by Lincoln Center's Great Performers in association with the New York Philharmonic.

Lisa Batiashvili and Paul Lewis have begun collaborating in recent seasons; leading up to their New York recital, they will perform the same program in London, Philadelphia, Princeton, Toronto, and Boston, and in December 2013 they performed works by Schubert and Beethoven on a recital tour of Europe.

During her Philharmonic residency, Lisa Batiashvili has already performed Brahms's Violin Concerto (October 2014, led by Music Director Alan Gilbert) and Barber's Violin Concerto (February 2015, led by David Zinman). In April 2015 she will return with her husband, oboist Franc?ois Leleux (in his Philharmonic debut), to perform the U.S. Premiere of Thierry Escaich's Concerto for Violin and Oboe (a Philharmonic co-commission) and J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe, conducted by Alan Gilbert. This concert is Ms. Batiashvili's first in New York in more than ten years.
