Christine Schweininger Joins the Stockton Symphony's Board of Directors

(STOCKTON)-The Stockton Symphony is excited to announce that Christine Schweininger, a founding member of Amigos for the Artes-Symphony, has joined the Symphony Board of Directors. As a Director, Christine will represent the Amigos organization at Symphony board meetings.

Christine Schweininger has been a Modesto resident for more than 25 years. She attended Delta College and Chapman University with a focus on communication. She has more than 18 years of experience in the print and media world. Christine, along with her business partner, owns Visión Magazine. Visión is a magazine that is focused on positive, professional, inspirational stories of Latino innovators in education, business and community leadership.

Despite her busy schedule, Christine is committed to the community where she works. She has created, led, and participated in many local groups and organizations that are focused on improving the community. She has been involved with Sierra Vista Child and Family Services, River Oaks Center for Children, The First Tee, and various other groups.

Christine's participation in the community has always been very important to her. She believes that true leadership begins with the ability to bring people together. She has a tenacious and positive attitude of always wanting to give back and get involved.

Christine is married to Dieter Schweininger and they have three children.

Amigos for the Artes-Symphony is a group dedicated to building a new Latino and multi-cultural audience for the Stockton Symphony. Founded in the late summer of 2013, Amigos for the Artes plans to develop a membership of youth, professionals, and families within the San Joaquin Valley to attend the Symphony's performances and educational events, and to cultivate lifetime members, donors, and patrons of the Symphony.

Amigos formally launched on Octobers 4th at a reception before the Music Beyond Borders, featuring electric violinist Tracy Silverman and presented by the Stockton Symphony. Amigos also sponsored a Meet and Greet at DeVega Brothers restaurant, with Symphony guest artist Gabriela Martinez, after the Symphony's October 26th classics concert.

The Founding members of the Amigos for the Artes-Symphony are Arlene Galindo - Chair, Christine Schweininger, Linda Stockton, Sandi Castañón-Ramirez, Ana Marie Zapien, and Dr. Inez Ruiz-Huston.

The Symphony is thrilled with this opportunity for community engagement and looks forward to expanding relationships throughout the community.
