Chicago Symphonic Winds Perform Tonight at Gorilla Tango Bucktown

Chicago Symphonic Winds will present its first formal concert tonight, November 21, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at gorillatango.com/bucktown or by calling 773-598-4549. All performances take place at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 1919 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647.

After performing various chamber works across Chicago, Chicago Symphonic Winds is excited to introduce its first full-length performance at Gorilla Tango Bucktown. Opening with a celebratory brass nonet, the repertoire for this performance explores standard selections for wind ensemble from French, German, Russian, and American composers. Featured works are Riegger's Nonet for brass, Stravinsky's Octet for Winds, Milhaud's Little Symphony No. 5, and Strauss' Serenade in E-flat major.

Chicago Symphonic Winds was founded in early 2014 by six musicians committed to the tradition of great wind music in Chicago. Seeing the need for quality performances of wind repertoire, Chicago Symphonic Winds presents high-caliber performances while furthering the tradition of wind music. Chicago Symphonic Winds is dedicated to being a relevant presence in the community and is actively involved in partnerships with local businesses and community programs.
