The CSO's "Concerts for Kids" Invite Families to Beat the Winter Blues with Babar and Friends February 22.

As part of the CSO's Concerts for Kids series, conductor Albert-George Schram and the Columbus Symphony, with assistance from colorfully costumed actors from the Actors' Theatre of Columbus, will perform French composer Francis Poulenc's The Story of Babar based on Jean de Brunhoff's beloved story of the same title. Concert-goers will follow the adventures of everyone's favorite little elephant on his journey to becoming the king of the elephants.

Children and parents are invited to come early and enjoy pre-concert activities that begin at 2pm in the Capitol Theatre lobby. Activities include:

  • See and play instruments from Music & Arts Centers and The Loft Violin Shop
  • Harp "Petting Zoo" courtesy of the studio of CSO harpist Jude Mollenhauer
  • Instruments and musical fun with WeJoySing
  • Crafts with the Columbus Museum of Art
  • Musical tattoos
  • Meet the CSO musicians
  • Meet Mr. Sunny from Sunny 95
