MAUI, Hawaii - The "Venice Backstreets" (published by AuthorHouse) become the setting for a game of love and the search for the heart's true desire in Blue Lynn Blake's new novel, based on her life experiences and portraying an American woman's solo travels, romantic adventures and erotic experiences in the Italian city renowned as a world capital of love, beauty and romance. Readers will be treated to exotic locales, intimate moments with passionate lovers, self-discoveries and more in this wild ride replete with unexpected twists and turns.

The author is also the main character and narrator, she describes her life as a woman looking for a new start. She sells her business, gives away all her possessions and moves to Venice, leaving her comfortable life in order to find herself halfway around the world. She stays at an apartment in a palazzo on a canal and there she begins living her dream, or so she thinks. Unexpectedly, her life soon becomes as complicated and twisted as the backstreets of her beloved city. She discovers Venice's hidden treasures and plays the game of love, enjoying erotic adventures with a wide range of men in hopes of finding happiness. Over the course of the year, she learns about herself and what she truly wants from life, but readers will see if she has the courage to reach out and take it.

"Sexual freedom is always a current subject whether you're gay and able to marry the person you love or you're a young girl standing up to the Taliban. In America we have a creed - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - Blue is a woman who lives by this creed," Blake explains, conveying said themes in her story, which she likens to a synthesis of the elements of sexual exploration in "50 Shades of Gray," the self-discovery and travel adventures of "Eat, Pray, Love" and the episodic structure of "Sex in the City."
