During his tenure as a California Highway Patrol officer, author T. R. Shannon saw countless scenarios take place while enforcing the law.

Chronicling his more than 20 years serving the Sierra Foothills of California, "Cow County Chip: T. R. "Ticket Ted" Shannon #4409 Claifornia Highway Patrol" (published by AuthorHouse) is an autobiography featuring 128 short stories recounting real-life events.

Accounts of high-speed pursuits, heartbreaking traffic accidents, drunk driving incidents, humorous encounters, physical confrontations and ethical dilemmas will thrill, entertain and amaze readers.

Shannon says his book is a less sensationalized version of the life of a traffic officer, something not often seen in the genre of police stories. He hopes the book will relate to officers currently in the field, as well as readers looking for an objective and informative perspective of police life.

About the Author
The third of five children, T. R. Shannon was influenced by a rural lifestyle. His father was a logging contractor. His childhood home was lit by kerosene lamps and heated by a wood-burning stove. Prior to becoming a California Highway Patrol officer at 31 years old, Shannon spent seven years as a logger, one year as an apprentice mechanic and five years as a City of Eureka firefighter. Almost all of the short stories in "Cow County Chip" were gleaned from his 23-year service with the California Highway Patrol.
