Nicole Georges Brings Pets, Punks, & Queerness on Tour With Her Book FETCH

Award winning artist, Nicole Georges, will be bringing tales of her beloved but tenacious dog Beija and their life in the Portland punk scene, with her on tour this coming July in support of her new graphic novel Fetch. Fans will have the chance to attend meet and greets with special book signings that will include Nicole's unique art drawings as well as live book reading sessions with Nicole.
"I spent two years writing & researching, and two hard years drawing the story of my dog, Beija. It's a story about art, feminism, finding your place, and how a bad dog helped me grow up," says Georges. Fetch is a vivid graphic novel about the relationship between Beija, a dysfunctional sharpei/corgi mix, and Nicole Georges'. The book succeeds in combining Particularity and in depth detail with a view of someone who has been on a challenging and expansive journey. Georges manages to impeccably symbolize what it means to care for and be responsible to another living thing, turning to various establishments for help with her beloved Beija. But it is the moments of accommodation, adaption, and compassion that sustain them.
