Romanian tennis legend Peter Marmureanu has lived a life of many titles. In his new book, "Beyond My Dreams", he reveals his incredible and sometimes startling life journey from an impoverished early life to a world-class tennis player, becoming the tennis coach for the U.S. Federation and Wightman Cup teams. In between, readers can discover his background visiting 51 countries, transporting top-secret government messages, fleeing an oppressive Romanian government in 1975, and meeting (and playing tennis with) President Gerald Ford.

"I am living proof that if you have a passion in life, working hard to perfect it can pay off," Marmureanu said. "If I had given up, I would have never had the opportunities I have today in America."

"Beyond My Dreams" is politically correct as well, as the situation in Eastern Europe today resembles that of his boyhood. Marmureanu epitomizes the classic American tale of the boy who grows from humble beginnings to lead a spectacular life.

About the author
Peter Marmureanu grew up in poverty in Romania, a bare-foot boy learning tennis with a wooden paddle. He was eventually recognized for his talent, and became the country's number two tennis player. After growing up to play on the Davis Cup Team and finding himself endangered by the government, he fled to the United States of America, where he would go on to coach the U.S. Federation Cup and U.S. Wightman Cup teams.
