In the new interstellar thriller "Ma" (published by Trafford Publishing) by author Brian Balke, the Lords of Taphinal - father and son - seek to rescue Lady Zenica, whom they lost in their struggle to maintain peace in the galaxy.

Threatened by the conversion of Earth's digital technology for spiritual warfare, the two men are rescued by a mousy scientist, a mother's love, and - through Leelay, a woman of Congo - the ancient power of life itself.

"Ma" combines elements of both science fiction and fantasy and evolves from the premise that in mastering the threats of the 21st century, men and women can honor and empower one another on a spiritual level, Balke says.

The author hopes his new thriller will pose a powerful modern allegory that celebrates the unexpected strengths discovered in serving others and the Earth.
